Create Templates

In the Documents tab, select the document that you would like to use as a template and click Create Template.

To view the document you want to create a template from without opening it in the PDF editor, select it and click Preview.

In the Edit Template Name window, enter a name for your template.

Your template opens in PDFfiller editor. Select the appropriate Field Types and place them on your template. Make sure that the Select Field Source selector for all field types is set on Dynamics. Select your object name and field names in the dropdown menu.

To create a template, you have to connect at least one fillable field to a Dynamics 365 object.

Note that only fields with a blue mark can be connected to Dynamics 365 objects.

The current object and its related objects along with all object-related fields will automatically appear in the editor. You can prefill your template using data from the current object and several related objects. To do so, specify the desired object name for each field separately.

Once you’ve added and connected all fields to the required Dynamics 365 objects, click Save.

The new template is now available for your Dynamics 365 organization objects. Go to the Templates tab to locate and use it.

Select what to do with your template in the Template Options section.

1. Click Generate Document to get an automatically prefilled document that looks exactly like your template.
1. Select Preview, if you want to know how a shared document with prefilled fields will appear to recipients.
1. Click Edit Template to edit a template in PDF editor, add more smart fields or edit existing ones.
1. Click Share Template to make it available for other users in your Dynamics 365 organization.
1. Click Delete to remove a template from the list.

Create templates using documents from SharePoint

DaDaDocs supports server-based integration with SharePoint. Users can create templates from documents stored in SharePoint.The documents from SharePoint are labeled with SP Shared tag in the list.

The process of creating a template is identical to creating templates from regular documents in DaDaDocs. The new template is also stored in SharePoint. When you use the SharePoint template with SendToSign or LinkToFill, the signed documents generated from it are stored in SharePoint.
